Undergrowth
Saturday, April 4th- Monday, June 22

Felicia Ann and Raul D’Mauries present a collaborative acrylic collection exploring fantastical and surreal interpretations of fungi. Inspired by the strange beauty of mycelial life, their paintings transform familiar mushroom forms into new compositions. Blending careful observation with imaginative distortion, the work reflects on fungi as symbols of quiet transformation, interconnection, and the unseen systems that quietly sustain us and the natural world.
Raul D'Mauries, a self-taught artist and musician based in Oakland, brings together diverse influences from his birthplace in Mexico City and his surroundings.
Working primarily with acrylics, his art reflects a unique blend of surrealism, ancient mythologies, as well as weird things, creatures, wildlife, and the darker side of art.
Born and raised in Malaysia, Felicia Ann is an artist and designer currently based in Oakland, California. She blends her rich Southeast-Asian heritage and a strong interest in science fiction, magical realism and mythology. Felicia works in a range of mediums including acrylic, digital painting and assemblage, often combining techniques and media to the effect of blurring the lines between what's "real" and what's digital.
