Lea Zalinskis - Inside/Outside

We are excited to have Berkeley artist Lea Zalinskis showing her work on our walls. Her charming 3D paper pieced creations are something we haven't shown before. These framed beauties are not to be missed.
Lea Zalinskis is an East Bay artist whose interest invariably leans toward the secret
goings-on of the non-human world. Made from hand-cut paper, the works on
display show various imaginings of animals venturing closer (or farther) away
from human-built environments.
Lea grew up in Berkeley and Oakland. She graduated from CCAC with a BFA in
Photography, before returning to her first love of drawing. Her illustration work can be
found around town on Oakland Public Library cards, t-shirts from Mars Record Shop,
and in various retail shops (including Nielsen Arts). The artist herself can be found
selling her wares at local art markets.
In addition to cut paper, her preferred mediums include ink, pencil, and clay
(or, really, anything else she can get her hands on). When she's not making stuff, she's
usually having a coffee, out befriending neighborhood cats, or taking pictures of food
people have dropped on the sidewalk.
Lea's work will be on display from October 3rd - November 28th
